though comes the issue of the teacher knowing what is python or ruby, then also comes the issue of pressure from somewhere else. as even a lot of company in malaysia don't use those, yes i know i know, that is where osdc.my comes in, to educate
use py/ruby/php as we were tought of basic in tho days
How about setting up a list of software in various categories somewhere, preferrably in language that is understandable for the average teacher. Little review, few screenshots, etc. Then, we can use that as a starting point to start convincing educational institutions to switch. Another thing would be a showcase of case studies.
